The Simón Beltré Aniversario Limited Edition is a rare cigar that is always produced in small batches. The long filler impresses with a very creamy smoke and fine notes of soft woods, lots of nuts and traces of leather and spices.
The Dominican cigar manufacturer Simón Beltré is actually known for its Andullo tobaccos. He has even named a cigar after this special Dominican tobacco variety. With his Aniversario Limited Edition, the Dominican is breaking new ground and producing a more creamy smoking experience.
The cigar maker, who was born in Tábara Arriba, relies on old, well-seasoned tobaccos from an independent region and finally ages the rolled cigar for several years. Incidentally, the Dominican “Andullero” now lives in Barcelona and has been commuting between Catalonia and his old homeland ever since.
The beautiful Simón Beltré Aniversario Limited Edition starts off with woody and nutty aromas. The cigar is rolled relatively tightly, but the draw is still okay. In the first third, the connoisseur is accompanied by notes of soft woods, fine nuts, traces of leather and almonds. This is followed by leathery notes, plenty of sweetness and oat cookies. The smoke feels very creamy.
In the second third, the strength settles at a medium level. Nuts, almonds, wood, a little gummy bear and lots of cream delight the aficionado in this smoke section. In the final third, the connoisseur tastes more wood flavors and leather. Almonds reappear, as well as traces of hazelnut, cream and even vanilla.
It is not for nothing that many aficionados consider the Simón Beltré Aniversario Limited Edition to be the Dominican's best cigar. It is undoubtedly a great cigar that always has a lovely sweetness and creaminess. Unfortunately, it is not always available.
