Dunhill's Ernest Shackleton series is a limited-edition release that celebrates the life and adventure-filled life of Sir Ernest Henry Shackleton. Born in 1874, Shackelton was part of Robert Falcon Scott's Discovery expedition from 1901 to 1904, and he led the Nimrod expedition from 1907 to 1909. It was during this latter expedition that Shackelton set a new record for coming the closest to the magnetic South Pole — an accomplishment that earned him his knighthood.
In honor of Shackleton, Dunhill offers a selection of serialized "13" bent Apples, each of which is presented in a leather-bound book and comes complete with a sterling silver tamper inspired by C.S. Jagger's statute of Ernest Shackleton. This particular "13" bent Apple is rendered in Group 4 size and sees a stocky, softly rounded bowl paired to an upturned shank and a demurely curved tapered rim. The shape is dressed here in the fetching Shell Briar sandblast, accented with a band of sterling silver.
