Description CAO PILON ROBUSTO (1)
- A Pilon is a stack of leaves that ferments the tobacco to maximize the flavor and color. That technique takes center stage in CAO Pilon.
- A Pilon is a carefully layered stack of tobacco leaves that helps ferment the tobacco to maximize the flavor and color of the leaves. Dating back to 19th century Cuba, this natural method of fermentation delivers a taste and appearance that just can’t be reached otherwise. CAO Pilon uses this time-honored method to give you a cigar with deep, rich colors and unprecedented depth of flavor.
- CAO Pilón Robusto comes from the brand new series of the Nicaraguan CAO line. Your tobacco is characterized by a special fermentation process that gives it its name. This process produces a very balanced and complex taste, which is carried by woody, spicy and sweet notes.
- It took several years until Agustin Garcia and Rick Rodriguez, both working as master blenders for CAO, came up with the perfect touch with the fermentation process known as Pilón. But in the end they succeeded and the result is a perfect blend. This very time-consuming technique was applied to the Ecuadorian wrapper, which vies with silk to see who offers the finer feel. And we can't make up our minds either, the workmanship of the first-class material is so good. The filler and binder come from Nicaragua and, in combination with the wrapper, form a harmonious and complex aroma structure that brings notes of wood, earth, chocolate, pepper and sweetness with it. With a length of 12.7 cm and a 52 ring gauge, a window of enjoyment of a good hour opens, which unfortunately goes by far too quickly.
- CAO Pilón Robusto cigars have a Long Filler construction.
- Smoking time: 45-90 minutes.
- Strength: medium.
CAO, that stands for the founder of the brand, Cano Aret Özgener (known as Cano A. Ozgener in the US adopted home), as well as for high quality in a modern guise. The CAO Cigars brand comes from the USA, more precisely from Nashville, Tennessee. Here the Armenian, who was born in Istanbul and who is a passionate pipe and cigar smoker, Cano Ozgener founded CAO International Inc. in 1968, which initially specialized in pipes and humidors, and later more and more in cigars.
Where tobacco grows, CAO goes, We’ll go anywhere to find the exceptional tobacco we’re looking for.
And we have. We’ve been all over the world, procuring some of the finest and rarest leaf known to man.
The jungles of the Amazon. The mountains of Colombia. The valleys of the Dominican Republic and the volcanoes of Nicaragua. And nearly every point on the map in between.
And in all our travels, we’ve discovered something. When we remove boundaries, borders, and limits from the process, what we’re left with is a tobacco experience unlike any other.
